Have you heard of Alfred Nobel? You may know of him as the creator of the Nobel Peace Prize. The truth, however, is that before he created that prize, he was known as one of the largest arms manufacturers in Europe. His claim to fame was as the inventor of dynamite.
Then, in 1888 his brother, Ludvig, died. The media mistakenly thought it was Alfred who had died and wrote his obituary under the headline “The Merchant of Death is Dead!”
Imagine reading your obituary before you died. Alfred did, and was so disturbed about the legacy he was leaving, he founded the Nobel Peace Prize to leave a legacy promoting peace, not war. A century later, that’s how most of us think of him. His name is now associated with the great names of the Nobel Peace Prize winners, from the Dalai Lama to Nelson Mandela.

No matter what has happened in the past, we can always rewrite the future – beginning today. How are you using your genius to leave your legacy? What is your personal identity?
The past does not equal the future. So make your stand today!
Your personal identity is the opposite of your personal brand. Personal branding is about dressing yourself up, but your personal identity is about stripping yourself down. It is getting to the core of who you are and what you stand for.
The word ‘identity’ has within it the word ‘dent’.
